Offered through Schola Humanistica
This seminar focuses on the central role that Petrarch had in the transmission and reception of Livy’s work. In the course of the two sessions for this seminar, we will read several letters of Petrarch and his contemporaries about the alleged discovery of the tomb of Livy. In addition, we will examine the inscriptions found in Padova that pertain to Livy.
Through the teaching techniques developed by Schola Humanistica, participants will experience a genuine spoken Latin approach to the texts while engaging with content of great educational value.
